Golden, crisp exterior with a tender interior, ideal for a delightful breakfast or brunch treat.

# What You Need:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour (250 g)
02 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon baking powder
04 - ½ teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

05 - 2 large eggs
06 - 1¾ cups whole milk (420 ml)
07 - ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled (115 g)
08 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

# Directions:

01 - Preheat the waffle iron following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, whole milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
04 - Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined; a few lumps should remain to ensure tenderness.
05 - Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
06 - Pour enough batter onto the waffle iron to cover the waffle grid, close the lid, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
07 - Remove the cooked waffle and continue cooking the remaining batter following the same method.
08 - Serve waffles warm accompanied by fresh fruit, syrup, whipped cream, or melted chocolate according to preference.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • The outside stays impossibly crisp while the inside remains fluffy and tender, exactly how waffles should be
  • Mixing the batter takes literally five minutes, but your kitchen will smell like a brunch spot all morning
  • They freeze beautifully, so you can wake up to homemade waffles on busy weekdays too
02 -
  • A few lumps in your batter are completely fine and actually lead to better texture, so resist the urge to keep stirring
  • Stacking hot waffles makes them steam each other and lose their crispiness, use that wire rack trick
  • The batter will thicken slightly as it sits, which is normal and actually helps prevent spreading too thin in the iron
03 -
  • Separate your eggs and whip the whites before folding them in for restaurant-style fluffy waffles
  • Melt your butter slowly and let it cool to room temperature so it doesn't scramble the egg mixture
  • Add any fruit or nut mix-ins right before cooking to prevent them from sinking to the bottom
